TERMS & CONDITIONS

By making a purchase from Art by Jo Reed, through my online shop, invoicing, bank transfer or any other type of payment you are agreeing to the terms and conditions outlined on this page.

 

I want to make each commission an easy and enjoyable experience. Although most commissions are completed as expected I will always be available to help should any issues arise. You can always contact me.

 

I reserve the right to turn down commissions if I feel it is inappropriate for me to carry it out, or if I feel I cannot meet expectations of the commission.

Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of £25 is required to book a place in my calendar.

 

​Timescales & Deadlines

Turnaround time will always vary and is an estimate and can always change, even during a commission. You are not entitled to a refund if your portrait is completed after your estimated completion time, however I do always do my best to meet deadline dates such as special events.

 

Commissions can sometimes be late, or early! As I can never really know how long each artwork is going to take me. If you need an artwork by a certain date I always recommend getting booked in well in advance. I am always available to contact so please do get in touch if you have any worries about deadlines. 

 

Mounts

Your painting will be mounted with a neutral mount, but not framed. International pictures will not be mounted - they will be protectively wrapped and posted in a tube . 

 

Cancellations 

All deposits are non-refundable to book a place in my calendar. Should you wish to cancel your commission after work has commenced then full payment will be due.

 

Although every effort is made to meet deadlines they can never be guaranteed, if your portrait is completed after the estimated turnaround time at the time of purchase you are not entitled to any refund. If in the unlikely event that I cannot fulfil your commission, you are entitled to a full refund. 

 

Shipping

I offer shipping to UK and overseas and this will be agreed with you when you order your commission.

Parcels are always sent with either Royal Mail or Parcelforce depending on the size of the parcel. Artworks are always sent extremely well packaged and fully insured against the total cost of the portrait(s). Although every effort is made to deliver your parcel on or around the date stated by the courier, it is not the responsibility of Art by Jo Reed if your parcel is not delivered on time.

 

If in the unlikely event that your parcel is lost, a claim will be made for compensation against the total cost of your order. Refunds will only be issued after a claim has been accepted with the courier, as they may wish for you to fill in a form to declare you have not received your parcel – this could take a few weeks for the claim to go through. As soon as the compensation amount has been received you will be issued with a full refund. Refunds take 2-7 days to show in your account once issued. You will be contacted with any updates on this process should it be necessary.

 

Damaged Items & Returns

If in the unlikely case the mount your portrait arrives with is damaged you must take photographs of the damages and send them to me within 3 days of receiving the parcel. A new mount can be sent to you.
 

If in the extremely rare case that the commissioned artwork itself arrives to you damaged, you must contact me within 3 days of receiving it with pictures of the damages. The artwork must be returned to me and when I receive it, you are entitled to either receive a full refund, or a new artwork at the same price (if you choose to have a new artwork done for you, you will be booked in at the earliest possible time after my ongoing bookings).

 

You are not entitled to a refund if you contact me after the 3 days of receiving it. Return shipping is non-refundable. The item must arrive to me in the same condition as you received it. Refunds will only be issued after a claim has been accepted by the courier, as they may require you to fill in a form to declare the artwork arrived to you damaged – this could take a few weeks for the claim to go through. As soon as the compensation amount has been received you will be issued with a full refund. Refunds take 2-7 days to show in your account once issued. You will be contacted with any updates on this process should it be necessary. 

 

Prices

Prices may change at any point and they tend to rise on average once a year, this reflects the increase in prices of materials used in the products and the advance in my professional skill.
